Well, for the most part, we lived in a village. It was just a nice little village. Stores, houses, a school. There was some ruins up north, but...we didn't go there, until the end.
[And a sigh.]
That place was...comfortable. I think it helped that I used to live in a village, when I was a kid.
No, not scared. I mean, the task we had to do was just...
[He falls silent for a moment.]
It was strange. We spent ten years there, but sometimes it felt like it went very fast, too. But definitely, ten years passed, I'm sure of it. But I admit, years into it...this place seemed like a distant memory.
Well, he was kind of popular at at school. I think what people really liked about him was that he always listened, and never wanted anyone to fight. I remember one day, he came home and told us about all the romantic drama his friends were having only because he just wanted advice on how to make things better, to keep his friendships from falling apart.
[A pause.]
He just...always put people in front of himself. Hard-working, kind, thoughtful...I couldn't ask for a better son.
...He had you and Emet-Selch-san to help teach him how to be that way, right? Emet-Selch-san is smart, and you're very kind even if you have to be cross...
I think it makes sense. I never got to talk to Emet-Selch-san a lot... But... you would be a good dad, so long as you had somebody by your side.
Oh yes, he's pretty smart. Emet-Selch always wanted Kaiza to be the best at his studies. He'd spend so much time going over his homework with him. Haha, in the end, he still couldn't get his grades up, but he worked really hard, so...I think even Emet-Selch was pleased with that.
[A good dad, huh...]
Anyways, he turned out pretty good, for having to deal with us for ten years.
[Its the longest silence, yet. There's a few shuddering breaths, as Hansa tries to find the words to say. When he does speak up, his voice is quiet through the door.]
No. He's.........well. Its complicated, but effectively, he's just...
[How does he even explain? He said it at least once to someone else here, but going it over again is like running a finger against an open wound.]
...Like I said, its complicated, but essentially, he was never made to exist. He died as a boy, and a spirit...resurrected him in a new timeline so that he could find her again, and bring her story to light. But when he did, the spirit's power ran out, so that timeline just...disappeared
[She can't see, but on the other side of the door, he's just putting his head into his hands. He's so...tired.]
Now that world no longer remembers him. Only we do.
[Sometimes you go to a world, you're made into a kid's father, and then after ten years of raising him, your new son is effectively just erased from existence! Fun!!]
[There's a loud thump against the other side of the door, her weakly slamming a fist against the wood.]
Then tell people about him, Hansa-san!
His existence was important! You spent so much of your life with him and Emet-Selch-san! You raised him and you helped him be a good person, no matter what happened!! And even if the memory hurts, even if it's so much time you can't take back... a person that special to you deserved to be remembered by as many people as he can! Even if we've never met your son...
You... you're losing two people you've come to know so well and... you shouldn't have to do that all by yourself...!

No.
I... I wasn't able to find out much of what happened. I felt really bad when I found out you guys had been captured, too.
What happened, Hansa-san? Did time not work the same?
no subject
[He almost sounds like he's going to laugh, but...he doesn't.]
We lived there for...ten years.
no subject
[Years? YEARS??]
Hansa... H-Hansa-san, that's so much time, how did...
[She swallows.]
How... did you even make it back? What kind of place would take that much time away from you?
no subject
[He sounds wistful.]
We came back only when...we were no longer needed.
no subject
[...
Her tone softens.]
What... kind of place was it like, Hansa-san? What did it look like?
no subject
[And a sigh.]
That place was...comfortable. I think it helped that I used to live in a village, when I was a kid.

Does this mean we need to get to know one another again, Hansa-san? Do you think it will come back to you, maybe, if you give it a little time??
no subject
[Time sure is weird.]
no subject
Do you miss it?
Ten years... that's a really long time. You could make a whole other life and just... never really think about how much things changed.
no subject
I don't...ever want to go back to that world, again.
no subject
[Her response is careful.]
You said there was a task you had to do... right?
no subject
[A heavy sigh.]
Emet-Selch and I...we raised a child together for ten years.
if the mods made you play princess maker im gonna cry
Like... you got to be dads together?
What was your child's name?
IT WAS NOT THAT BUT IT SURE DID HURT
[They sure were dads.]
His name was Kaiza. He was just...a really good kid.

[gush about your family, hansa-san]

You said you were there until you weren't needed anymore, though. Did... he leave when he grew up?
[i, nik, do not think this and am afraid]

He's dead, Hikaru.

Hansa-san...
Why? What... what happened to him?
