[He notices someone out in the fields - that girl from before, he thinks. Her hair is hard not to notice. Hansa, hands in his pockets, makes it out to the middle of the field, casting his gaze towards the castle in the distance that she's facing. He's silent for a moment, before speaking up:]
[She's plopped to a seat in a bed of wildflowers, arms against her knees with her chin resting on top. She's wearing a different outfit today, a set of short bib overalls with a loud checkered shirt in red and black.
She blinks, confused, before shaking her head slowly.]
I'm real sorry, but I don't have any money. My wallet is still back in Tokyo.
[Hansa only goes to the planetarium because needs to get to a dark place - his headache is killing him, and the low light should help ease it. He steps in, gaze cast up to the night sky above, and then it moves down to see-]
[She's plopped against a wall with a plushie of some sort curled up in her arms as she stares down at the floor. She's a bit of a mess, grass and bits of tree twigs stuck in her hair. Nearby, a broadsword sits, momentarily discarded.
She starts at her name, glancing up at Hansa and immediately trying to sit herself up a little more.]
Hansa-san...
I was trying to see if I could talk to anybody from the castle... Did you get the message about Hajime-chan, too?
[She'd been meaning to slip back to where she'd last seen Virid, maybe retrace her steps, see if there had been something she'd missed. She's attempting to be inconspicuous about it all, but unfortunately, Hansa is right there and Hikaru wears regret on her expression like wine on a white shirt, catching the priest's eye and feeling her face burn with shame.
...
She'll carefully try to approach him, doing her best to keep her eye contact from flickering away.]
[Why is there a little heap of red and pink in the grass? Who knows, but she sure is just lying there midway between the forest and the town, out cold in the middle of the afternoon. Has she not learned her scathing lessons about head lice from Taako? Probably not.
Come any closer to take a look, though, and the dark discoloration under her eyes is impossible to miss. She'll rouse almost unprovoked, starting, effort being taken to simply lift her head up and look around with heavy, exhausted eyes.]
[He almost felt like his heart stopped, seeing the prone body on the ground and the familiar color of her hair- but rushing over, this is clearly not a dead body. He lets out a short sigh, relieved.]
What are you doing out here? [He squats down next to her.] It looks like you haven't slept for a while...what's going on?
[Welp. Hikaru's not that hard to spot considering she beelines for the planetarium immediately after Kano is taken away, and then straight to her bedroom, where she slams the door shut.
If you're waiting for her to come out, at all, that is not happening in a million years, so you might want to knock at Room 18.]
[She's chilling out on the steps of the inn on Thursday afternoon, bandaged in several spots and a little oddly colored in her face, but looking okay otherwise! She's got a very-creased piece of paper against her knees with a few blank ones underneath, a pen in hand and a goldfish plushie from the emporium with weird, plastic pieces pinned to the back occupying her lap. Odd choice, but okay.
Hella, wherever you are, Hansa. She will wave.]
Oh, Hansa-san...! Hey, um, I need to ask you something.
[Holy shit, but her voice sounds rough. She coughs right after saying all that.]
[He sees a familiar form by the river. Hansa stills when he sees it, wondering if he should approach...but he finally decides to step forward. As he gets closer, a simmering sort of guilt can be felt underneath the surface of calm and seriousness.]
[The answer is a little dulled from her seat near the banks, knees drawn close to herself as she watches the water run by. Her emotions are tired and a little... erratic, anxious, like a buzzing hive.]
I... have a lot to think about, I guess.
Are you okay, though, Hansa-san? I saw you get thrown... you're not hurt or anything, are you??
[Guess who is sitting outside the inn! Hansa swivels his head when he hears her approach. The first thing she should notice is that he has taken off his eyepatch.]
[The second thing she should notice is the strange right eye - a crystal set in metal, lens within swiveling and adjusting as he looks around.]
It feels so odd, to be searching him out like this. But Hikaru tries to quiet her busy mind as she carefully slips up to Hansa's bedroom door, knocking only twice.]
Hansa-san...
If you don't want to talk, we don't need to talk, that's okay. But can you let me know you're there?
[Someone's taken a little hike up the mountain to be with her thoughts, and even from a distance, Hansa will be able to notice her reaching out to touch a distortion, quietly watching it take place while huddled against the ground, decked out in this unfortunately with the hat pulled off her head and swung back against her shoulders. Her sword lies next to her. She doesn't seem to react much to whatever she's seeing, her breathing calm and steady, her brow furrowing a bit but otherwise seeming rather open.
There's a beat, a long moment of nothing. She turns at the sound of footsteps, giving Hansa a brief smile before turning back to the cluster and gently touching another.
It starts triumphantly. Exhausted and in pain but filled with a new boldness. A passion. An end goal in sight. And then something happens.
...
Still she sits, her face tightening at the familiar feelings, still strong and vicious and overwhelming. There's pain there, and it can be read even if it's begging to be pushed back. But she finds herself keeping her breath steady, letting her hands stay relaxed against her lap.
Viewing it all impassively, like a third party with very little reaction, even if it seems a little wrong.]
[Either way, Hansa witnesses it all, confused, and then........it just keeps going, and going. Like a rock starting to tumble downhill, gathering speed with every roll, until, until, until....the horrific crash.]
[He stands, stunned for the moment, but he turns to her instantly. Worried. Concerned. Confusion, still.]
[After all the commotion, Hansa, back in his regular priest outfit that he was in in the beginning of this crazy adventure, finds Hikaru sitting outside.]
[He instantly sits next to her.]
...Seeing you here...its like you were never gone.
sunday, after npc talk
Penny for your thoughts, little lady.
